@GovMikeHuckabee This Latin Patriarch you mean? The one paying homage to the Jihadi terrorists killing Jews in Israel by wearing their Keffiya over his cardinal robes?

My statement re Prohibiting the Latin Patriarch of entering Church of Holy Sepulcher on Palm Sunday: While all Holy sites in the Old City are closed due to safety concerns for mass gatherings including the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Al Aqsa Mosque, the action today by the Israel Nat'l Police to deny Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and 3 other priests from entering the Church to offer a blessing on Palm Sunday is an unfortunate overreach already having major repercussions around the world.  Home Front Command Guidelines restrict any gatherings to 50 people or less.  The 4 representatives of the Catholic Church were well below that restriction.  Statements from the Gov't of Israel indicate the action to prohibit Cardinal Pizzaballa entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher were for safety reasons, but churches, synagogues, and mosques throughout Jerusalem have met with the restrictions of 50 or less.  For the Patriarch to be barred from entry to the Church on Palm Sunday for a private ceremony is difficult to understand or justify. Israel has indicated it will work with the Patriarch to accommodate a safe means of carrying out Holy Week activities.

@Spike_Mordant @NormalIslandNws @grok George H.W. Bush stated in 1988: "I will never apologize for the United States—ever! I don't care what the facts are” about this incident. And the officer in charge of the Vincennes was given an award for the incident.

@NormalIslandNws @grok While the US didn't apologize for downing flight 655 or admit to any wrongdoing, President Reagan did express deep regret, and the US paid compensation to the victims' families. We'll see if we pay a dime for blowing up that girls' school.

Hi @grok is it true that on 3 July 1988, Iran shot down a US passenger plane with two surface-to-air missiles, killing all 290 people on board, and has never apologised? That would seem to me like an incredibly evil thing to do...

The color loss happens within minutes of exposure to air, conservators working at the site developed the problem of watching pigment literally flake off before they could stabilize it. Chinese and German researchers spent years developing a consolidant that could be applied immediately upon excavation to fix the pigment in place, but the technology arrived too late for the figures uncovered in the early years. The warriors the world knows as grey terracotta were originally painted in vivid purples, greens, reds and blacks using a pigment called Han purple, a synthetic compound whose production formula was independently invented in China and has no parallel anywhere else in the ancient world.

Today in 1974 the Terracotta Army was discovered. This photograph shows the freshly excavated pit with 2,000-year-old warriors still showing the original color scheme before the rapid deterioration that made them as we know them today.

@TaliGoldsheft Pathetic how hard you’re grasping at straws! Plan to murder then flee beyond our jurisdiction? Sounds relevant and inculpatory. And unless it’s a lie, you’re just cranky about the truth being true And your beef is with the Jewish terrorists who named the JDL, nobody else

Let’s break down what Mamdani did yesterday. Zohran Mamdani had to delete his first post yesterday which originally described someone “attempting to blow up” Nerdeen Kiswani’s house—pure anger-stoking rhetoric. Then, he still deliberately chose to spell out “Jewish Defense League” (not just the commonly abbreviated term JDL, like his post about the ISIS-inspired terrorists). He had to shove “Jewish” front and center at the top of the post. He wrote about fighting against political violence while ignoring Kiswani’s repeated calls for “resistance by any means necessary.” The “flee to Israel” detail? Completely unnecessary. Kiswani loved it, and retweeted it enthusiastically. Deliberate fuel on the fire. He knows what he’s doing. He’s pretending to speak against political violence while inciting it.

@BWNort @Telegraph Isn’t that “reports submitted” and not “reports substantiated by police”? If so, it’s easy to manipulate that stat in bad faith. I suspect you chose the word “experience” to twist the truth: it means “reported” but is likely to be confused for “substantiated”

@Telegraph In the UK, malice toward others is disproportionately directed at Jewish citizens. Jews experience the highest rate of hate crimes compared to all other people groups, races, ethnicities, and religious adherents. Combined. Here's just one comparison.
