One of the many things I love about Cirie is, whether on an island, in a house, or in a castle, she's always been immensely grateful for the show that took a chance on her 20 years ago. An environment that allowed us, and her, to realize how much of a badass she truly is

Characters like Helga's mom matter in kids shows.
People call it "inappropriate", but millions of kids grow up with alcoholic parents. Seeing that reality on screen helps those kids feel less alone and helps other kids develop empathy for lives outside their own.

Helga’s mom wasn’t just “sleepy.” Craig Bartlett said Miriam was intentionally written as a secret alcoholic — something the show never said out loud, but kept showing through her absence, exhaustion, and emotional distance. Suddenly Helga’s anger, toughness, and need to be seen make a lot more sense.
