I hear this every week in my office: "Doc, my heart rate hits 150 during squats — that's cardio, right?" No. And if your cardiologist hasn't explained why, keep reading. 🧵

I saw a post mocking an APC member who collapsed while distributing rice and later died after being taken to a hospital in Ikorodu affected by doctors’ strike. Posts celebrating or mocking the deaths of APC members because of failures of the ApC govt they support don’t make sense. Death isn’t something to weaponise for politics. APC, ADC, Obidient anyone could face the same outcome in such unfortunate medical emergencies. We should show empathy, not mockery. Meanwhile, President Tinubu is yet to address the massacre in Jos, Plateau. But he’s seeking more loans. O gaaaaaa

Jos attack is another evidence of failed leadership.. Leadership that prioritizes politics over protection of lives.. Choosing rather to waste our collective patrimony in pre-election jamboree and pre-coronation plans.. Posterity will judge a leadership that now emboldens, enables and replicates what it once vehemently condemned.. I believe in the power of prayers but prayers won’t replace responsibility.. We need humane leaders.. These current folks have zero affiliation with empathy… We are tired..it’s depressingly exhausting. We stand with the families who lost loved ones and pray for fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.. And for those who will engage this tweet to support failed leadership for the crumbs they offer you,pls show your irritation via good grammar.. So even if I am irritated by your intentional delusion,I would be encouraged by your mastery of words.. AJS.

President @officialABAT is running the Most Useless Government in the history of Useless Governments!!! How many more Nigerians have to die due to this abysmal level of incompetence? Nigerians wake up everyday to lament one tragedy of the other. Unbearably heart-wrenching!!!

Abuja hosted people in their thousands this week. Gassing and hyping up the president was their main job. Now that they’ve received their own share of the national cake, they’d make their way back to respective states of residence.

🫀Heart failure in 2026: we are no longer treating symptoms. We are redesigning the disease. The latest evidence update reminds us of something profound: Heart failure is no longer a single entity. It is a spectrum, and now, finally, we are treating it as one. Several paradigm shifts stand out. 1. SGLT2 inhibitors are no longer “add-on” therapy. They are foundational across the entire EF spectrum. From HFrEF to HFpEF, the data are now consistent. Not just symptom improvement, but hard outcomes. This may be the most important unifying therapy in modern HF. 2. HFpEF is no longer a therapeutic desert. For the first time, we have real disease-modifying options: Finerenone → outcome reduction across EF ranges GLP-1 / dual incretin therapies → targeting the obesity phenotype Structural and metabolic mechanisms are finally being addressed We are moving from “HFpEF frustration” → HFpEF phenotyping. 3. Acute heart failure is no longer about stabilization. It is about early transformation. The new paradigm: Start GDMT in-hospital Optimize rapidly Treat beyond congestion Decongestion is still important, but it is no longer the goal. Disease modification starts on day 1. 4. Decongestion is becoming precision medicine Urine sodium-guided therapy Early escalation of loop diuretics Sequential nephron blockade Not just “give furosemide”, but measure, adjust, and target response. 5. Devices are no longer rescue therapy, they are integrated care TEER expanding from mitral → tricuspid Pulmonary artery pressure monitoring reducing hospitalizations Remote hemodynamics shaping outpatient management The boundary between ICU, ward, and home is dissolving. 6. The biggest problem is no longer evidence. It is implementation. We already have: Quadruple therapy Proven outcome benefits Yet many patients never reach target doses. The gap is no longer science. It is execution. 🤓Final message Heart failure care has entered a new era: Mechanism-based therapy Early aggressive optimization Phenotype-driven treatment And perhaps most importantly: We are no longer chasing symptoms. We are altering the trajectory of the disease. 📃Reference Liori S, et al. Heart failure evidence update 2026. Heart Failure Reviews. 2026. doi.org/10.1007/s10741…

@OurFavOnlineDoc I’m very shocked to hear this from this seemingly intelligent man. Did the prodigal son kill , maim and displace innocent people? It’s very unintelligent argument to make. Let @grok tell us if this video is real and when was it made? Also what’s the context?

Had the privilege of presenting my research into the experiences of IMG GP Registrars with the final GP exam at the BJGP. IMGs make up around 50% of GP Registrars, its only right their experiences are duly represented in literature so that policy can change where needed.

Today, I turn a year older. And every year on this day, I reflect on something far bigger than me. For a long time, I believed luck was something that just happens to you. Then I realised, luck can be engineered. Opportunity can be democratised. Hope is not just a feeling; it is a system we can build.

Mr Gov. who welcomed you ? And who welcomed those that welcomed you. This thing you people do would never make sense. We have become so shameless. So shameless one would think Nigeria is the first country to be invited for a state visit . After this jamboree, we’d be back in a few years to assess the impact of this trip on FDIs, trade deals and realised investments.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu@jidesanwoolu

I received His Excellency President Bola Tinubu on his arrival at the Fairmont Hotel in Windsor ahead of the State Visit. We have a productive couple of days ahead and I am looking forward to the progress we will make for our state and the country.
