Low risk alternatives to cigarettes, such as vapes and oral nicotine pouches should be sold everywhere where combustible smoking products eg cigarettes are sold. It should be a condition of getting a license to sell cigarettes 🚬.
Joshua Miller@apathymiller

Cigarettes which we know kill millions each year are available on every corner... yet vaping products which do not kill people and save millions of smokers lives are being banned?!?!? WHAT? #VapingSavesLives #AdultsLikeFlavors #VapingIsNotSmoking #TobaccoHarmReduction

🚨 FDA released the 2025 National Youth Tobacco Survey. Here are the numbers, and it's good news if you don't want kids using nicotine, bad news if you want to try to use kids to justify prohibition: High school past-30-day use: • E-cigarettes: 7.1% • Nicotine pouches: 2.2% • Cigarettes: 1.8% • Any combustible: 3.5% Middle+high combined: • E-cigarettes: 5.2% • Cigarettes: 1.4% • Nicotine pouches: 1.6% Source: 2025 NYTS public use file, FDA. Weighted estimates, n=23,630.

📊 The common theme across many proposals: • Higher taxes • More restrictions • Limited recognition of harm reduction Yet smoking rates continue to decline as non-combustible alternatives grow.
