@So_im_yoko usually they try to do the same, but it depends a lot on the production (often there isn't time to make proper templates at the start so we just copy from other files, or there's a lot of bespoke setups so just referencing style frames)

drama aside, i'm curious how western animation compositing workflow works, in anime we're used to making everything at the beginning, so when the cut comes we just give the "template effect" that was made at the beginning. i'm really curious how their workflow/pipeline works.

Hi, I was one of the four people. Of course we all wanted the show to look as polished as possible. There just wasn't enough time or manpower. Best I could do is add some lighting/shadow work to 1-2 sequences per episode since they're 40-55 minutes. We did our best 🫰

this fuckass cinemascope ass gimmick is the worst fucking thing to ever happen in tv anime. all they do is cut out amazing drawings and aren't even implemented properly, in fact, rarely well implemented in anime including movies. please stop begging for your show to look dogshit.
