@ItsSunnieP Big problem in this industry. A lot of these gatekeepers are self-centered ladder climbers with inflated egos. They can talk at length about their personal wins but suck to be in the trenches with. Ask them how many people they've helped or mentored along the way and it's 🦗🦗

Trying to explain to a man that I am a full-stack developer is EXHAUSTING. Him: "Oh you're a web designer." Me: "I know how to design but I'm not a web designer." Him: "What work have you done?" Me: opens GitHub Him: "How does this prove you're a FULL-stack developer?" Me: "Do you see the full-stack architecture in these repos?! It’s literally the entire codebase." Him: "Then why aren't you working in that field?" Me: shows previous work Him: "Well that's not like Rockstar or some other big company..." Me: "...yeah. You got it, you're right. I'm just a web designer." That conversation went WAY longer than it needed to. Some men will never let you be an expert in peace.

Yes… theoretically you’re wrong. Some people enjoy streams the same way others enjoy TV shows. If I’m watching someone play a single-player game, I’m not necessarily chatting. I’m consuming the content. My community lurks while I’m playing and pops up when something crazy happens. That’s just how some audiences engage. Also, the word “farming” gets thrown around a lot lately. It makes it seem like someone is wrong for moving the way they do. But what’s the purpose of posting on social media? Likes. Shares. Engagement. It’s all social media… whether it’s live or written in a text thread. Using that same logic, I could say this post is engagement farming and you don’t actually care about responses that disagree with you. But in reality… I don’t know your intentions. And you probably don’t know those streamers’ communities either.
