@jake_coasters Stockholm‘s Gröna Lund Park has a Love Tunnel called Kärlekstunneln. It’s from 1917.

Tunnel of Love rides did actually exist! They were widespread attraction in early 20th century amusement parks. Often called “Old Mill” rides or river caves, they sent small boats drifting through dimly lit, twisting tunnels. The secluded setting made them especially popular with couples looking for a quiet, romantic experience, and by the 1950s, there were more than 700 of these attractions in operation.

Cartoons really made me believe that water rides called The Tunnel of Love where you go into a little river boat to make out in some cavernous dark ride were just a part of life but I'm pretty sure they don't exist.

@OnlineHyde Blue Mountains is top tier. Thought scenic railway+skyway were impressive. Felt Cairns was worth visiting for Daintree Rainforest NP trail (eg crocodile safari), GBR snorkeling , + waterfall train.. Also liked Taronga ZooSydney ferry from Opera/LunaPark with skyline views/gondola

@thundercatfeet Yes Philip Island is on the list. And you have my attention with wild koalas! Blue Mountains are on the list, not top priority but kinda second tier. Should they be top? And yes cruise makes these stops, are these interesting spots?

@OnlineHyde I did the Philip Island penguin colony. It’s cold there in the evening. I‘d do the Great Ocean Road (12 Apostles) if you go to Melbourne (wild koalas). Are you doing the Blue Mountains near Sydney (scenicrailway)? Are you going toCairns (Great Barrier Reef, Daintree, Kuranda)?

@mobiusb2 Ledra street checkpoint is right in the city center/shopping district which felt unique to me. It’s as if Marble Arch were a border to another country. I didn’t visit Larnaka unfortunately.

@mobiusb2 Have you visited Sicily? They have a theme park Etnaland (Catania), it’s always warm, and lots to see such as Taormina, Mount Etna, Siracusa, Palermo, Cefalu,Stromboli with hourly volcanic eruptions..the food is excellent. Everything is affordable and public transport is good.

@OnlineHyde ferry to Montevideo is popular for a day trip . I‘d book it soon. You can also just to Colonia but Montevideo is nice. We went to Iguazu. The falls are the best (2h from BA). Also went to the famous cemetery in BA and tigre boat river tour; both are okay. BA looks like Barcelona

@mobiusb2 Are you sure it’s closed? People talk about it in recent reviews. There are other museum dark rides:Stockholm has two: Junibaken -very good ; Viking museum; Titanic museumNI ; Vulcania (France);the weirdest a ghost train in Dortmund‘s work museum(DASA) and in Utrecht train museum

@jakesonaplane_ You should go to Nuremberg and Dresden as those are the biggest, oldest and most famous Christmas markets in Germany. The cities are also very beautiful.

Would you go to a Dracula theme park? A new 1 billion euro entertainment complex has been announced for outside of Bucharest, Romania, with its star attraction Dracula Land! It features 6 themed lands and multiple on site hotels. This would be the countries first big theme park.

@mobiusb2 Međugorje in Bosnia isn’t far from Split (90mins). Many tourists go Medugorje and Mostar (the city with the bridge) in Bosnia from Split for a day trip. Medugorje is a very popular Catholic pilgrimage site almost like Lourdes, Santiago or Fatima with millions visiting each year.

@mobiusb2 I’d also check out the caves near Ljubljana. Postojna Cave has a famous cave train and a castle caved into a rock (Predjama Castle). Skocjan Cave has a huge underground river canyon . Lake Bled and Piran are very pretty. There are frequent buses to all those places.

@mobiusb2 It’s a shame if you don’t visit an island. You can combine Zagreb with Slovenia. It’s 2h from Ljubljana to Zagreb . Venice/Triest /Verona aren’t far away either. Dubrovnik is even more expensive than Split. Kotor (Montenegro) with that beautiful alpine coaster is cheap again.
