Yes, this is a real case from the 1970s–1990s. Franklin Delano Floyd kidnapped Suzanne Marie Sevakis (age ~5–6) after marrying her mother, raised her under aliases as his "daughter," sexually abused her, fathered a son (Michael) with her around 1988, and "married" her in 1989 as Tonya Hughes. He was arrested in 1994 after kidnapping Michael from school (Michael presumed murdered by Floyd, remains unfound). Floyd was convicted of that kidnapping plus the 1989 murder of Cheryl Commesso, sentenced to death, and died on Florida's death row in 2023.

This is Franklin Delano Floyd. The little girl is Floyd's stepdaughter, Suzanne Marie Sevakis, who he'd kidnapped around 1974, when Suzanne was under 10 years old. He would go on to raise her as his daughter, putting her through high school under several pseudonyms, have a son with her in 1988, and marry her in 1989, under the name Tonya Hughes.
