If you don’t believe the Bible at all, please take a look at the book of Daniel and check your assumptions and preconceptions at the door before you start. I was entirely convinced as a young adult that the NT Bible had been altered too much to be trusted and that there was no way to validate the OT as anything other than a Jewish historical tradition that was updated as they went along. An honest and skeptical analysis will lead you away from that conclusion. The book of Daniel has incredibly precise prophecy about world events that would happen centuries after the book was written (even by secular skeptics dating), let alone translated into Greek for the Septuagint before 250 bc. Daniel gives the exact day the messiah would come to Jerusalem. Jesus IS the Christ. The Tanach describes his crucifixion in Isaiah 53 and psalm 22 There are multiple implicit and a couple explicit references to God manifest in the flesh there too so the divinity of the messiah is not a post death invention by dejected followers, think the battle of Jericho where the “angel” invites worship, Abram serves a meal to the three “men” who aren’t and God is one of the three while no one can see god (father) face to face and live. Look at the names in the genealogy from Adam to Noah, we just see the name as a transliteration but they give you the meanings in the text. It’s a summary of the Christian doctrine in genesis BC era Jewish rabbis definitely didn’t plant that intentionally. Read the actual Bible in a literal translation for yourself. There are free apps and sites like blue letter Bible blueletterbible.org that let you read many versions of the Bible and get at the raw Greek or Hebrew of the text to check difficult verses. Mark/write down any issues serious doubts you have and they will be resolved as you study.

I’ve got a couple. The ESV study bible was my first cover to cover read through, but that thing is massive and I really don’t want the commentary in my Bible. I enjoyed my time through the LSB more than my ESV, but that has even less LXX influence. I have a Cambridge clarion ESV, It’s my daily driver and every time I come across a missing verse, MT based verses that have destroyed typology, just plain removed messianic stuff, or completely changed or muddled a meaning it’s like vinegar to my teeth and smoke to my eyes. the margins aren’t quite big enough for all my notes calling out the differences so it’s vague notes or deferring to actual study somewhere else. I’m just about finished a read through of the SAAS orthodox study bible and it would be really nice if there were some premium option that’s pleasant to read, fits in one hand well, doesn’t have the study notes and doctrine pages but still had LXX OT and TR NT. I can study in @Logos basically any version and any manuscript, but for daily reading I like something a pleasant for my hand and eyes as it is for my soul. a well crafted leather bound book sure is nice! I do have to laugh thinking about 1st century believers overhearing these quibbles over minor issues when many of them probably never even got to hear everything we now have.

Perhaps instead of saying “Christ is King.” we should be using the credal language of Scripture and saying “Jesus is Lord.”

And if you get into an unexpected accident or shot while being robbed. Don’t gamble eternity so that you can have more “fun” before asking for forgiveness. It has to be genuine and none of us are promised another breath. The justification He grants is your get out of hell free card. But you’ll show up as if you’re escaping a fire… with absolutely nothing. Believe in Jesus and live a life that shows you mean it. Why would you not want others to get the same gifts you’ve been given? You could have the “best” 100 years here on earth and be in hell and it would still have been infinitely more preferable to have followed Him now, even if it led to misery now and cost you your life.

Now there’s another interesting coincidence. Finishing up a run through the LXX in the orthodox study bible (LXX OT/ TR NT). Going through 2 macabees… Antiochus (king of the bad guys/world) makes a peace treaty with Judas (main guy leading Israel) and even gives a sacrifice for the temple to offer and it lasts for three years. Then political intrigue has the king send a dude named Nikanor (man of victory) to kill Judas, he falsely confirms a peace treaty with three dudes and with Judas (the many) intending to break it to kill Judas on the King’s orders. Nikanor asks the priests at the temple to give up Judas and threatens to raise the temple and erect a temple to Dionysus. Nikanor storms off after they say they don’t know where he is and there is a battle and Nikanor’s head and right arm are cut off the day before Purim. Echos of Daniel 11:31, Daniel12:11, Zechariah 11:17, 2 Thessalonians 2:4, Revelation 13:3. That happens on page 666 in this Bible. I’m not saying it’s inspired, but that’s either a very strong typology partial fulfillment or the author was seriously trying to make it fit.

Sort of paraphrasing a guy who was, then wasn’t, then was a believer and calling it a quote from a Christian is about as accurate as this title. Jesus Christ is a living Jewish king and The God. Temujin is a dead murdering rapist who will inevitably bend the knee and confess that Jesus is Lord. Also the original quote is inherently false. God plus nothing is already an infinite power advantage, he should go look in the texts he uses to justify militarily actions to see how that turns out for God’s enemies when He decides their iniquity is full.

I was told the truth about the 2 seperate charges now " the charge to get it to your house"..and the seperate "power "charge. They are reversing now, as folks are waking up to the scam.
