🌞🌞 Surviving the British heatwave?
Here are three tips I learned while living in Monterrey, Mexico, where summer temperatures can reach 45°C.
1. Try the wet towel trick. Hang a wet towel in your room near a fan, the moisture can help cool the air. If you have tiled floors (not wood), you can also place the wet towel on the floor like a small carpet.
2. Slightly dampen your bedsheets before going to sleep. It can cool your body considerably and make hot nights more bearable.
3. Take a shower before bed. It helps lower your body temperature and makes it easier to fall asleep.

A "huge cost", that's where you are wrong.
It won't have any cost to the treasury because it is not their f-ing money. They didn't earn it, you earned it. The low wage employee earned. That plumber you are talking about, he earned it. Not the treasury.

And the back garden. Used to be lawn, roses, an apple tree, a vegetable patch. A nightmare to maintain. David's done away with the lot. Plastic grass throughout. Even put in a fake palm tree, very Mediterranean. No mowing, no weeding, no bees. He can charge more now. 🇬🇧

You should see what our David has done with his latest buy to let. A tired old 1930s detached. He's modernised the lot. New plastic windows, properly insulated. The original front garden was a maintenance nightmare so he's tarmacked it over. Parking for four cars now. He's painted the brickwork a smart grey. Tenants love it. The neighbours aren't happy but they should see it on a sunny day. A sight for sore eyes. Some people just have vision. 🇬🇧

As such, the Islamic pray denies that Christ is God and any Christian that prays it is not Christian anymore, any Church that has it chanted is not a Church anymore.

So many of Britain's problems in a nutshell:
>1952 council block falling apart, sewage leaking into flats, loose cladding, dangerous wiring
>£48m bill to completely overhaul it and ensure it's habitable, so cheaper to demolish and rebuild
>council evacuates most social tenants and tries to buy up a majority of flats to be able to demolish
BUT
>resistant residents, backed by Living Rent activists, don't want to sell because asking price too low, and say council should never have let it get so bad
>they submit the building to Historic Environment Scotland to be listed
>HES unexpectedly say they're likely to list, which would make repairs even more expensive, and demolition potentially impossible
>council stops buying the remaining flats while they wait for a decision, in case they just have to sell what they can or write it off
>now residents will potentially be unable to sell at all

If you think the government can spend your money better than you can, you are truly mad.
British Chancellor Rachel Reeves plans to tax cash held in ISAs. Do you really believe she will stop there?
First it will be cash, then ETFs, then non-UK stocks, and so on until the entire ISA is taxed.
Since when did British people start believing taxes are “good”? Taxes are bad, period.

Call me mad. But I think Rachel reeves plan to tax cash held in S&S ISA is a good idea. The benefit to the UK of the S&S ISA is that money flows into business pushing up the value of the UK economy. Especially if as expected the majority of risk adverse Brits will go for FTSE ETFs.
