My hairstylist put to bed in April and was away from work for weeks. I've been styling my hair myself since then. I just felt it was a kind thing to do. I've been using her services for almost three years. Even after moving farther away, I still go back to her because she's professional, handles my hair well, and has always treated me with respect. That was last week. Today, she called me and asked if I could lend her ₦40,000. I was genuinely surprised. Not because she asked, but because we've never had that kind of relationship. In almost three years, she's never asked me for money before. I told her I didn't have it, which is the truth. But the call left me wondering: Do some people start seeing you differently the moment you show them kindness? Sometimes it feels like people assume that because you gave, it means you have plenty. Meanwhile, many people give not because they're wealthy, but simply because that's who they are. I'm curious.

Today's SQL discovery: I assumed every column in a GROUP BY had to appear in the SELECT statement. Turns out, GROUP BY defines the groups. SELECT defines what gets returned. Small lesson. Big improvement in how I think about aggregations. #SQL #DataAnalytics

There’s a recruiter on LinkedIn I’ve been following and admiring for a while who shared that she applied to the same company about 10 times before finally getting hired. When she got the role, you could genuinely see how excited she was. She posted about the company often and seemed incredibly grateful to be there. A few days ago, she announced her resignation. Since then, she's been sharing some of the reasons behind her decision to leave. What’s even more mind-boggling is that she admitted she left without having any backup plan and she’s back in the job market willingly. She just reminded me that sometimes the role you've dreamed about for years can turn out to be very different from what you imagined.
