We need to look after our elderly, they paid vast amounts of NI & no one told them it was a political Ponzi scheme. This country needs to cut regulation to the bone, reduce the size of the state & go after the 8 million on benefits.

A huge reason why Labour did badly at the 2017 general election, as opposed to catastrophically abysmally, as predicted beforehand, was down to an anti-Brexit vote as opposed to a pro-Corbyn, pro-socialist one. The left have struggled with this ever since.

I have long ago reached the lucky position where nobody who pays me can tell me what to do or say. They know not even to try. I don’t need anybody’s money. I’ve worked long and hard all my life for my own financial independence. I have never inherited a penny (but I did benefit from wonderful parents who wanted me to have the education they never had). And it makes me my own man. I have no interest in what Rupert Murdoch or anybody else thinks of my writing or broadcasting.

Every week, around 1,000 new benefit claims are filed in the UK. That’s unsustainable. Why should the hard‑working taxpayer keep footing the bill for a government that promotes a culture of handouts? The whole system needs to be scrapped

Wow some of these boomers are so selfish and rude it’s disgusting. I thought they were the generation of manners and respect.
Yes, unless you regularly look after your grandchildren I do expect you to sell a large house which you no longer need as it will:
1. Help your own children/grandchildren get on the ladder
2. Free up a house for a family who could really use it as we have a shortage of large house due flat builds
3. Free up all that equity for you to live on and enjoy.
As boomers get older many will mostly use downstairs as stair usage gets harder anyway.

You should see what kings and dukes live in and large swaths of land they own- just for themselves and their entitlement.Rents landlords are charging owning 6 homes ..But your grans life savings and skimping for a semi is what you're after🤔 .And you want us to work for free🙄

This can only mean that Starmer is getting the balance right. I am out canvassing for Labour in Haringey almost every day and I am seeing the current position of the government on the war starting to really cut through positively with voters.

We are horrified. Over Easter weekend, about 71 people likely drowned in the Mediterranean. Yesterday, our aircraft Seabird 2 spotted an overturned wooden boat: ~15 people clinging desperately to the hull, others in the water, and some lifeless bodies.
