@LaniRefiti @bensmithrugby 21 of the Aussie 23 were in school this year. Only Nick Conway and Finn Mackay were 2024 school leavers.

A year makes a big difference when you’ve had a year in a Super Rugby development program vs schoolboy academies. Aus U18 did the same to Aus Schoolboys last week. I can see why both Rugby AU and NZR want to stand up U18 competitions because the extra year in a professional program helps when they get to U20’s. At the moment we’re at least 1-2 years behind the NH teams whose academies start when they’re in school.

Australia U18 with a huge 81-48 win over NZ schools. Wow. Midfielders Pritchard and Bloomfield exceptional. A big win for their high performance programme. Good to see Heinz Lemoto at 8 despite going to Toulouse.

It’s not an eden park hoodoo. It’s a bloody fix. What is the penalty count? It’s borderline. Unwatchable. #NZLvAUS

Openly biased, proud 🇦🇺 but that was horfic. The standard of refereeing and TMO interjections was 💩. Hard to call it pro when one person can shape the whole contest. In all my years watching rugby, that’s right up there with the worst. Might do a Rassie video. #NZLvAUS sick

@tmc101588 @torosaurs @jimhamilton4 You’re wrong. Australia has close to 500,00 people of Pasifika decent. Fijian, Māori, Samoan and Tongan. Many of these people play rugby. Of the Wallanies 23 taking on the lions the only players born overseas are: Will Skelton (born NZ) Tom Lynagh (born Italy)

Called it with Owen on the bench. Surprised to see no Sione but Bundee is a freak. The squad looks slightly more physical. A tough test awaits. Wallabies look stronger. Thoughts?

Disappointing Canberra didn’t get any women’s football World Cup matches. Also hearing we won’t get any Rugby World Cup matches either.

@ChristypDoran Blessing in disguise. I know Ikitau is good but he’s been underwhelming these first two and Perese has a higher upside. Need to build depth

What did Frost do wrong? (Would love to see him at 6 one with these giant 2nd rowers one day.) Reserve props look stronger. Uelese very lucky, Suli had to go, excited to see Fraser do his thing. Hodge had to go but geez a card, HIA or injury makes covering the backs hard.
