@zephyr_z9 Trendforce now says that the fab expansion is just a reallocation of capacity from Taiwan to Virginia. Do you agree and does it change your outlook on NYT?

@trendforce @zephyr_z9 Would the decision to just reallocate capacity rather than expand capacity benefit companies like Nanya Technology?

According to a recent announcement on May 22, #Micron has commenced mass production of 1-alpha nm #DDR4 and #LPDDR4 at its Dominion #Fab6 in Virginia. Backed by an investment of over US$2 billion, the company aims to quadruple the facility’s combined DDR4 and LPDDR4 wafer supply. Amid market concerns regarding DDR4 supply, #TrendForce indicates that Micron’s Fab6 expansion primarily reflects an internal capacity reallocation; as the equipment for the new production lines is being relocated primarily from Micron’s #OMT operations, this move will yield no net increase in Micron’s overall DDR4 bit output. Given that demand for DDR4 remains robust, TrendForce anticipates the current DDR4 supply to remain tight.

We’re proud to announce a milestone moment for U.S. memory manufacturing. Micron has officially started manufacturing 1α DRAM at our Manassas, VA fab. As the only U.S. manufacturer of memory, Micron is strengthening America’s domestic memory supply with the world’s most advanced DDR4 technology — advancing our more than $200B U.S. manufacturing and R&D investment plans. bit.ly/43kpRJ4 #MemoryMadeInTheUSA #USManufacturing #GoMicron #IntelligenceAccelerated

Listening to Gavin Baker podcast. He says that in the AI explosion, like commodity producers, the worst companies will go up the most because they have the highest marginal benefits

Insurance is just starting to look too cheap - names like $KNSL $PGR $AIG $NMIH $ACGL $AJG just seem to be cheap here to the point that I feel I may be missing something. I guess the mkt is pricing in a lot of these cos seeing more competitive pricing/not being able to raise prices? Does anyone have a reason why this industry has lagged so much?

Really tempted to short $CLFD after their most recent run-up. Just need to be sure there wont be some massive data center announcement that pumps it...

I created a list of my favorite cafes to work at in NYC. Coffee shops > offices. I started my company inside a coffee shop. Beautiful spaces. Good energy. Surrounded by people locking in. And you randomly meet the most interesting people. My list includes the cafe name, neighborhood, and a proprietary, confidential scoring system based on: - Work space (tables, outlets, WiFi, design) - Food (quality, options, price) - Music (playlist, can you take calls) - People (do interesting people go here) - Coffee (does it hit) - Vibes (overall energy) I'd love to share this list with you + add new spots. Comment "CAFE" and I'll DM you the list.

$IGIC is a disciplined specialty insurer whose value comes less from chasing growth than from underwriting restraint, conservative reserving, balance-sheet strength, and returning capital when markets are unattractive. The upside case is that this prudence lets it protect book value through softer cycles while selectively leaning into harder pockets, especially Middle East political violence and war-risk, where losses have forced competitors to reprice or pull back.
