SEC Hegseth publishes a new policy allowing military members to carry firearms on base. Base commanders will have to give a written reason when they deny members request to carry.
1. Obviously this is the right policy for DOD and all Americans everywhere in America.
2. We will now get more reports of NDs on base; probably mostly by logisticians and military members with HR type MOSs.
3. Commanders will fight this as they're largely politicians and pussies. Easily over half. These are the same people who issued the unlawful MRNA jab order and haven't been punished AT ALL so that should be a clue as to how this will go down.

Japan has been America's best ally since MacArthur used his genius and managerial skill to turn them around. You can say what you like about Mac being a jerk (it's true) or whether you agree with every decision he made militarily (I don't) but he was the absolute perfect administrator if we wanted to make Japan an eternal friend. The Japanese constitution says that the Naval Self Defense Force is not allowed to have offensive aircraft carriers. Take a look at the Japanese Izumo class "multi-purpose operation destroyers". Are they able to mount offensive air operations? Well ... they are being modified to fly F-35Bs ... Please note that I 100% concur with Japan having these things. (Also, my subscriber post today is design notes on my game Planet Apocalypse.)

It is. America was quite literally nothing more than its army during the revolution. George Washington knew that so long as a standing Army existed and remained in the field, America existed and its cause stood. Nearly entire states were lost, major cities occupied, leaders caught and executed, but we kept going.
Without an army standing in the field though, we wouldn’t have existed as an entity with any kind of legitimacy to it. The continental army was the most integral part of showing we existed because it was a clear demonstration of a will to fight and the fact that we stood as equals capable of raising and creating our own forces.
Though as far as the militia goes, Nathaniel Greene and the latter half of the southern theatre did show how militia could be could to great use. Drawing out supply lines and chains as the British chased down the field army while militia engaged in harassment. But they were always just a supplemental effort, and could’ve never won the war on their own with no standing army.
