It is her first solo No. 1 on the chart and second solo No. 1 on country radio overall (“weren’t for the wind” reached the top spot on Mediabase, the second chart that determines country radio) According to Billboard, the average time it takes to rise to the top of Country Airplay in the last 10 years has taken 30 weeks; “Choosin’ Texas” needed just 16, completing the quickest journey for a song by a female without co-billed acts since two Carrie Underwood songs also led in their 16th weeks: “Church Bells” and “Heartbeat” in 2016.
