Hugely enjoyed the #AAPOR2022 conference (my first one). Every session I went to was great and Chicago a perfect location for it!

Looking forward to my second #AAPOR presentation in one of he final sessions (15.15, Wrigleyville). Will be talking about @ESS_Survey response to the pandemic and future implications. Also very keen to hear about experiences of other international surveys in the same session.

ESS experimented with interview length (50,35, 20 minutes) and incentives (5,10,25 euros), and used paper to follow up on nonrespondents (#pushtoweb). Response rates around 35%, only small differences between conditions. 2/3 of responses via web. So, overall, works! (2/n)

@timhanson_123 presents how the European Social Survey #ESS tested a switch to self-completion in Austria. #AAPOR (1/n). The test was done in 2020-2021 (Covid!). They had a address-based sampling frame,then individual in household with next-birthday. Question is: does it work?
