If those books were truly helping you, you would have been balanced enough to know you sound foolish. Better open fiction because you are the one who’s wasting your time.

If this were late 2000s/early 2010s, Nollywood would have produced their own adaptation of Wicked starring Eucharia Anunobi as Mama Morrible, Rita Dominic as Linda, Genevieve Nnaji as Efua, and Segun Arinze as the Wizard. We’ve lost so much art.

Reading fiction absolutely does reveal important truths about the world. For instance, it allows you to know that you are a better person than someone who does not read fiction

A newborn and a 5-year-old were killed during police-supervised demolitions in Oworonshoki, Lagos despite a court order. Residents protested. Now their homes are being set on fire. Gov. @jidesanwoolu’s housing apartheid is sinister and deliberate.
gst@wearegst

A housing apartheid is a situation where only the wealthy can afford to live with dignity while the poor are pushed out of the city they built. And that is what the Lagos State government seems to be striving for. From demolishing homes to reclaiming lands, ordinary people are being erased in the name of development.

Lagosians want to keep turning a blind eye to what’s happening oworonshoki till it reaches their doorstep. Government has been going round demolishing peoples houses (some without prior notice) and one of those demolitions.
