@Jesse8009 The "implication" has always been ambiguity. Biden and Trump's steps away from that towards intervention are what changed in the relationship and sparked Chinese outrage.

I think the last sentence sums it up perfectly: "Taiwan can either be the free-est Chinese province with a deal or the least free Chinese province after a war." "Friends of Taiwan" who don't recognize this are not really Taiwan's friends.

At least get your facts straight. Oung is NOT a woman who’s just minding her own business. Oung initiated all that by provoking others — for example, I didn’t even know who she was until she repeatedly wrote unsolicited replies to my posts. For a long time I didn’t pay much attention. But her last few replies were not nice at all — not nice to the point they sounded bullying. It’s more like she deliberately provoked others to start a flame war. So she now feels hurt when others fight back? And this guy feels bad for her and now defends her with stupid arguments like she’s a woman who’s just minding her own business. And this guy clearly isn’t just minding his own business. It turns out that he’s a CCP supporter like Oung… and he’s been actively promoting China recently. In his X posts he frequently mentions Oung. Interestingly in one of his Substack articles he sees himself, a Taiwanese, as a foreigner in China. Wait, a Taiwanese CCP supporter who wants to “reunify” with China but sees himself as a foreigner? That’s an oxymoron cuz the CCP sees Taiwanese as Chinese not foreigners. Calling himself Taiwanese is not in line with CCP’s narrative and I wonder how the 🇨🇳 little pinks would react. 😂😂😂😂😂 Beijing is indeed stepping up its influence operations. She’s so delusional. To the CCP, the Taiwan situation is a choice between taking control by firing shots (war) or by intimidating Taiwanese into submission (“peaceful reunification”). The CCP desired outcome is the same: taking control of Taiwan and crashing Taiwan’s democratic system. Just look at what has happened to Hong Kong.
