Here's another #watercolour #painting from my sketchbook - a view of a super-cute cottage in #BurnhamMarket, #Norfolk, from a photo I took while visiting there earlier today...

English

Here's another sketchbook #painting from this evening's walk from #BrancasterStaithe, #Norfolk. I loved the shapes/textures of these flint walls and pantiled roofs. I'm also enjoying the change in style that different paper, watercolours and more-detailed ink drawing is producing

Here's a quick #sketchbook #watercolour #painting I've just done from a photo I took while out for a walk this evening at #BrancasterStaithe, #Norfolk

Here's a bonus picture - the result of a quick extra #art session this afternoon - to finish off my British Bridges series of miniature #watercolour paintings. It features another impressive piece of engineering from the northeast of England, the #Tees #Transporter #Bridge...

English

Here's this morning's piece of #art, the next miniature #watercolour #painting in my British Bridges series - the #Tyne Bridge. I'm pleased with the way I've captured the sky and the setting, but less pleased with the curve of the #bridge which is not quite 'circular' enough

English

I had no morning time for #art today, but I've managed to fit in an evening #painting session instead. inexplicably, I've gone out of my planned clockwise sequence around the coast for my #BritishBridges miniature #watercolour series and jumped ahead to the #Humber Bridge...

English

Here's No.9 in my #BritishBridges series of miniature #watercolour paintings- the #Forth Rail Bridge (painted yesterday). This was a tricky one but hopefully I've captured enough of the bridge structure and reflections well enough...

You have to go 'Over the sea to Skye' and so my miniature #watercolour #painting this morning shows a view of the Skye Road Bridge, No.8 in my British Bridges series...

Today's miniature #watercolour is No.7 in my #BritishBridges series - Telford's majestic Menai Bridge, a special one for me, crossed it many times in the 5 years I was a postgrad in #MenaiBridge. It was a hard to choice of whether to go for a close up or capture the wider setting

English

Here's the result of today's short #art practice, No.6 in my British #Bridges miniature #watercolour series - a sunset view of the #BritanniaBridge over the #MenaiStraits into #Anglesey, Wales. I nearly ruined it darkening the bridge's reflection, but I think it's turned out okay

English

As I worked my way round the coast I missed an iconic example of bridge splendour: Brunel's #CliftonSuspensionBridge. I've painted it before in my #Bristol Miniatures series, but I just had to include it in my current series of #BritishBridges miniature #watercolour paintings...

English

As I work my way around the coastline in my morning #art practice, here's the 4th #painting in my British #Bridges series of miniature #watercolour pictures - the long, low bridge that carries the railway over the River Mawddach at #Barmouth in west Wales...

English

This morning's dose of #art practice has produced the third miniature #watercolour #painting in my #BritishBridges series - The 'Old' Severn Bridge at Aust (once the M4 crossing but now carrying the M48 over the #RiverSevern)

English

Here's No.2 in my British #Bridges series of miniature #watercolour paintings - The #Severn Bridge (Second Crossing)...

It's interesting to start a new series of miniature #watercolour paintings using different paper size, ink pen etc. and see what small style shifts emerge.
As a boy, I used to draw #bridges a lot, so here's No.1 in a series of British Bridges - Brunel's #TamarBridge...

English

Here's the full set of my Birth Month #Flowers miniature #watercolour pictures. I think they're okay for a first go at #painting flowers, although I don't think my ink outlining style is that well suited to the subject. But they do look bright and cheery when put together...
