Yesterday I learned of an employee action that broke my heart. This is an example of CEO loneliness: Last year we moved into a new office. Late in the game, I said that we should “not buy all of the equipment upfront in case people use the space differently than we expected”… today I learned of a storage facility offsite; it’s sole job was to keep me from knowing that we had already bought the TVs. It only takes a few of these moves to rot a company from the core. Fortunately people involved had already left the company!
