Our problems start and end with the light rail.

The communities touched by the light rail in Anne Arundel County have experienced increased theft, pushy panhandlers, riders urinating/defecating at the stop, & homeless sleeping in business doorways. Drug rehab centers seek to set up shop near light rail stops.

I was pretty upset a few weeks ago when Steuart Pittman, County Executive candidate, likened the great neighborhood of Ferndale to being like Detroit. Ferndale is NOT Detroit but one of several great communities fighting light rail related issues. capitalgazette.com/opinion/letter…
