The new head of Stonewall, Kezia Dugdale, tried to challenge the absurd idea that if you disagree with J.K. Rowling on women’s rights, you must also reject her work.
It didn’t last.
Within days, she had capitulated - issuing a grovelling apology after predictable backlash.
That Dugdale was so easily swayed does not inspire confidence that she will challenge Stonewall’s increasingly authoritarian stance on sex and gender - or its widening grip on public life.
