Without him, NZ were able to hang in there with Ireland and steal it in the final 20. Ireland would have had a sizeable lead were it not for the red.

In that period, Ireland scored 10 points to ABs 3 - say no more. Ireland were exhausted in last 20 minutes due to combination of not being match fit (Leinster) and their age profile

@tindlea @deplorablebantz @slatterywill The reason that Ireland lost in the last 20 mins is that they were exhausted playing with 14 men for 20 mins, yellow card is worth about a point a minute, plus the permanent loss of their best player

@Lynssssss @WorldRugby It wasn't 1 sided though: NZ equally penalised, especially in first half. You just think its 1 sided cos Ireland lost-if they'd won you wouldn't be complaining about ref. We've all done it - Steward's red against Ireland in 23 was shocking. Most Irish fans thought it ok.

@tindlea @jameswells51 @IrishRugby World rugby. It's 10 weeks and extra if you played over a certain amount of games. So players that started for the lions may have had longer than general squad players.

@Lynssssss @WorldRugby Unjust reds - it's happened to all teams. By the rules, if you make contact with head without a wrap, its a red. Forward passes - plenty called back today. A few borderline ones werent, but none led to a score. Ireland looked exhausted in last 20 mins - thats why they lost.
