Chattering classes on twitter seems intimidated by the prospect of a electorally successful DA. Good.

I am genuinely struggling to understand this logic. If the rest of the world is willing to pay a small toll to Iran to keep oil flowing and stabilise markets, then why does the U.S. feel the need to block all shipping, especially when it is not dependent on that oil?

The victory of the opposition in Hungary yesterday, like the Polish election in 2023, is a victory for democracy, not just in Europe but around the world. Most of all, it’s a testament to the resilience and determination of the Hungarian people – and a reminder to all of us to keep striving for fairness, equality and the rule of law.

People are so cynical. I’ve seen countless takes on this. He served as his chief of staff. They had a strong, respectful working relationship. One left the organisation; the other stayed and refuses to be dragged into tribal, partisan politics. That’s a good thing.

This is so gracious. A breath of fresh air at a time when maligning people who hold different views is the norm. To look beyond where you have differed and summon that moment of shared learning and understanding is truly an act of class by @geordinhl.
