Kade Chandler season is here. I love his game, his energy, effort and cleanliness. I'd love to see him getting 20 touches a game instead of 15. Right now, 33% of his touches result in scores for Melbourne.

Late in the game and he’s gone up another gear. • Latrelle Pickett is insane. The confidence to attempt what he did today with zero AFL games is wild. Give him 50 games and he’ll be unstoppable. • Big “Moose” looking unreal. Snagging him for a 2027 fourth-rounder already looks like a steal. • Disco Turner rock solid. Don’t think he lost an aerial contest. Leap always there, now looks stronger in the wrestle. 🔵 Midfield / System • Stoppage work has been elite all day. • Rivers rotating mid/half-back. • Langford’s tank ridiculous — borderline BOG in the last purely off repeat overlap running. • For the first time, Langdon isn’t a rusted-on starter. He’ll have to earn it with the young runners coming. 🔴 Forward / Selection Watch • Jeffo struggled to stamp himself on it despite a 15 goal margin. As a key forward he’ll want more. • Xav Taylor only played the final term but had a couple of very clean D50 exits though. • Harrison Petty will struggle to break into this backline with the tall depth we’ve got. 🔵 Ball Movement • Dropping eyes inside 50 instead of blazing away. • Fritta to Moose connection a good example. • Almost feels like Kingy’s listened to the fan base. 🔴 Scenario 2 – North up 2 points • Chandler started around the ball. • Ball pressure elite again. • Sharp put us in front within 45 seconds. • North had a late chance but beaten by the buzzer. • For most of the scenario, ball lived in Melbourne’s forward half. Yep, it’s time to find a way to let this guy go. Demons would like him to retire, you just can’t have this guy in the locker room anymore. Even if he does earn his $500k a year at Casey, he’s still around a lot of very impressionable young men. Just time for us to move on, however we possibly can. #AwakenYourDemon

Melbourne Training Notes – February 4 🔴 Injury / Availability Watch - CJ running + light kicking. - Jack Viney not involved at all, I'm really worried about his 2026 capaign. - Melksham, Salem, AJ, AMW, Petty, Kentfield all either running laps or light drills at the far end. - Bailey Laurie on the bike, no boots, called it quites early with AJ. - No Steven May. No Kalani. 🔵 System / Drill Watch - F50 re-entry drill over and over. - Clear focus on lowering the eyes and hitting shallow entry targets. - If it’s deep, it’s deep to pockets. Set up for boundary throw-ins and let Max go to work. - Feels very deliberate and methodical. 🔴 Ruck / Structure Notes - Max’s hand guard noticeably smaller — workload hasn’t changed at all. - Big Max "Moose" Heath looks a serious pickup. Absolute unit. - With Tom Campbell’s neck issue, Heath is clearly the No.2 ruck right now. 🔵 Player Spotters - Jeffo looks sharp. Working defenders under the ball and finishing well. - Windsor’s speed is obvious, but his tackling and spoiling stood out, even got Koz a couple of times. - Latrelle, just wow. Sidesteps through traffic, hits the gas toward goal. Moves exactly like his cousin. Special. 🔴 Selection Watch - Xav Taylor plays Round 1 in my opinion. He’s trained well enough and with Salem, AMW and Bowey all out lock it in. - Key Defender Logjam 👀 Lever, Turner, May, McDonald, Petty, Howes, Adams. Can’t play them all. A couple years ago, I saw Ron Perlman at a Comic Con and I had to meet the legend! Turns out we are both huge fans of Frank Sinatra! He told me that we would do something together soon and I didn’t think much of it at first.  Fast forward a few months and I nervously sent him some scripts of mine.  He told me he HAD TO BE IN PARADISE RECORDS!!  Next thing I know, we are on set together and he delivered one of the funnest moments of the entire movie!! Thank you Ron!!  Appreciate our friendship more than anything!! @perlmutations
