@htmljones seasons 9 & 10 are really good but it took him the run-up of seasons 5-7 being dogshit and 8 being kind of okay. say what you will about RTD but when he was good, he was good from day 1

If I was a writer and came up with something like this, I’d be insufferable to talk to for the rest of my life. Hard to dwell too hard on any of the Moffat era’s shortcomings when he was capable of pulling off a dozen strokes of genius per episode.

@uncanny_eli see this is exactly it for me, i think the film would've worked more for me if emma continued to have like any flaws at all in the present day, it would've felt much less telegraphed

pretty funny seeing people go "i'm surprised everyone is so sympathetic to Emma in The Drama - guess it just speaks to the strength of Zendaya's performance!" as if that movie's deck is not incredibly stacked in favour of you siding with her, and feeling rebellious for doing so
