@PhilRugby @Perers71 If I’m paying a consultancy a lot of £££ for a report to help shape my decisionmaking on something that will impact people’s livelehoods I would at the very least expect them to get the most basic of details correct i.e there are more than 14 professional rugby teams in France

WRU narrative of only being able to afford three pro clubs is diluted by the constant outsourcing to consultants and the push to give the women's game almost the same number of pro teams. Decisions taken, not forced upon WRU. Crazy for Scarlets/Ospreys to pay the price for that.

Just finished watching Louis Theroux’s new documentary on the Manosphere. What jumps out is just how insecure the bro-influencers he interviews are. For all their bravado, they spend the entire time worrying about how to answer even the most basic of questions, and getting flustered when they doubt whether their answers will make them appear emasculated. It’s also striking how uninteresting and one-note their lives seem to be. Beyond gym, cars, crypto and girls, these men have no meaning to their lives. Even their way their rental apartments all look the same, glossy but empty, speaks volumes. Another outstanding piece of documentary making from LT.

Louis Theroux: Inside The Manosphere premieres March 11. In his first Netflix feature-length documentary, Louis travels to Miami, New York, and Marbella to meet a network of influencers and content creators at the heart of the Manosphere.

@justinmmathews @LlyrGruffydd ?? ‘Council funding’ is devolved. So it’s Welsh and Scottish Gov that decide how much to allocate to local government - not UK Gov. Both Wales and Scotland are natural resource rich. Fact. But if you say England becomes richer if they leave the union where’s the problem?

Maybe that why Welsh council funding is higher than english council funding on average. If Wales and Scotland leave the union England becomes richer its that simple. Wales can continue to be a nation of sanctuary and will decline even quicker. Pissing away more money on independance only benefits people who work in Government and council offices. Noone else will gain.

North Wales households pay 71p a day in electricity standing charges - in London it’s 47p Yet Wales is a net exporter of energy. I asked the First Minister to push the UK Gov. and Ofgem for a total overhaul of this unfair system. Wales shouldn’t pay more for the power we generate

Not sure if this response is the slam dunk the First Minister thinks it is. "That is a relationship that you will never have—never have." This is in response to questioning about Keir Starmer saying that the UK Government shouldn't be over deferential to the devolved nations.

@PhilRugby @Richard99366022 Ruper Moon - east wales as well. Clearly not enough talent in east wales to make a team so they need ringers from the gogs and across the bridge!

Not just because Italy won, but this clip from George Ford always resonates, always will probably. Always worth a listen, but best to draw your own conclusions. There you go

@PhilRugby In the match on the day you had Cardiff players for West Wales. Ian Buckett and Garin Jenkins from Swansea for East Wales. Although Meek seems to have played (Jenkins injured?). Buckett had in another West Wales fixture played for West Wales.

@MagpieScarlet Generate more cash. Work harder to bring more money in. If the player pathway is improved we’ll not have enough teams for them to play if we go down to 3 or 2. Or ortherwise we just become south sea islanders of english/french club rugby

The WRU have admitted that they have no Plan B , and rightly so people are asking why not ? But I’d also like the people that are shouting the most about keeping 4 regions, what is your Plan B ?,

@andygoosemoore Couldn’t agree more. We have plenty of talent in Wales. Just look at how our Welsh schools consistently make the finals of comps like Rosslyn Park. But from 16+ it gets really messy in terms of player development. And so much talent is then wasted due to lack of clear pathways.

16–20: The Missing Link in Welsh Rugby Welsh rugby isn’t short of talent. It’s short of structure between 16 and 20. In my latest piece, I’ve moved from identifying the problems to outlining a practical framework to widen the base and strengthen the pathway. If we’re serious about the future, this is where the work sits. Read it here: andymoore55.substack.com/p/1620-the-mis… I’m genuinely interested in views from coaches, players and administrators. open.substack.com/pub/andymoore5…

@ScarletsAcademy Congrtaulations to all boys selected. Well done 💪 for those kids that have missed out and will I assume return to club & school, what future opportunities are there for them to be included at a later age group i.e late developers. Trying to better understand the player pathway..

@simonrug He put his hat in the Scottish ring. And has had 10 caps as a result. Good for him. World Rugby basically allows players to bounce from one international side to another - for me that’s wrong. But then again i remember how Welsh players ‘missed out’ thanks to Grannygate.

It was great to catch up with Cardiff’s Javan Sebastian this week. His career has taken him on some journey and there could be further milestones ahead yet, amid the possibility of him playing for Wales. Here’s the full interview. rugbypass.com/news/scotland-…

This is really interesting. These word clouds from a recent @Moreincommon_ poll looking at Wales. It lists the 16 words most associated with Labour, Plaid, the Tories and Reform. There is a lot to say on this. For the full analysis see my pinned tweet.

@simonrug @ValleysVegas Not only that but the way LRZ flew in on the angle. It’s just rubbish coaching. Depth & width always exposes an umbrella blitz defence. 4 years i’ve listened 2 Pundits banging on about playing up on the gain line & not least Howley & Gatland. Total nonsense! Depth= Vision & time.
