@lleyan611 I do think Genshin has been dropping the ball with female chars but I don't think Childe's refs means he's well written in the actual game itself. All he's been is yumebait. Theories don't translate to actual compelling content.

Like i genuinely can't think of a female character like childe for example, a character who seems rather irrelevant at first but then literally has so many references and connections even when he's not physically there or directly mentioned

Lowkey this doesn't apply to genshin I'm sorry 😭😭 almost every male character does have a backstory and a lot of female characters don't, they do serve the plot in archon quests but that's always about it and it hurts, like why doesn't kokomi have any cool backstory?

@wanyinmeow I was around for that. Hyv had no problem baiting but they can get in trouble because Zhongli represents CN. Do you not remember Childe yumes reporting them to the CN gov? I have proof that fear of boycotts is why Hyv won't do crumbs for zc fans again.

@wanyinmeow They won't care until yumes can report them to the CN gov. No way are they make Childe & the Tsaritsa a "canon romance". Maybe they'll try to mess with incels but the company that can't even make Alice playable isn't going to make their most anticipated archon in love with Childe

@wanyinmeow Childe is purposefully isolated to sell him as "only you understand him, traveler" yume fantasy. They used to have him interact with chars like Yoi or not mind marketing him in the same pic with a guy like Thoma but yumes are notoriously homophobic.

@wanyinmeow I mean it's both connected. The reason Zhongli & Childe can't interact has nothing to do with the story. Childe they can't have interact with other chars because yumes are too crazy & hate it every time they try.

@wanyinmeow An already released playable char being mostly offscreen & no interactions to flesh out their char to me is lazy, that's not how you "build a narrative". No well written char actually has a trajectory like this, even in gacha.

@wanyinmeow I disagree it has to do with a plot line, no offense but that sounds like ppl coping trying to explain why his writing is so bad compared to other chars. His yumes have blown up whenever he interacted with anyone. Hyv does rewrite & change marketing of chars to fit trends.
