4 businesses in #Limerick to closedown 😥 Silkes is to close after 30 years in business. The decision was made by the shop following the retirement of its manager. Also this week, Glitzi Bitz on Cruises Street announced its to close its city store and move to online sales instead. The Imperial Bar, Upper Careys Road will also close, following the sale of the landmark pub for €450,000 to a land developer, connected with the massive housing plan for the Colbert Quarter area. And Crew's pub at the top of Thomas Street, recently announced its closure, following on from the councils decision to dismantle a parklet outside the pub, which was key to its business popularity, the council did not inform the pub about its removal.

The latest 'Limerick Says No' anti-immigration protest in the city earlier today. About only 50 showed up 🫣 The Armed Response Unit arrested Ger Mc and walked him to Henry Street Garda Station 🤷‍♂️ 2 others were arrested. The reason was for obstructing traffic, as the protesters were just standing about at the Shannon Roundabout 🤦‍♂️
