When I see people make broad generalizations about black horror usually due to their ignorance and not being able to understand the subject matter, I recall this video explaining how gender and race can change how a genre is portrayed and why it is important to have that diversity.

The planet is 4.5 billion years old. Civilization is supposedly 6,000 years old. Nothing happened for 4.5 billion years? Not once? There are pyramids on every continent. Cities underwater. Structures modern engineers can’t replicate… The Earth resets itself with ice ages. Everything gets buried. We start over thinking we’re the first civilization. What if we’re not?

@jerstonfilm A lot of women do have movies, but the studios make that the number one marketing. Like we don’t need a strong independent women every franchise, just throw in some soft girl stories that actually represent people in life, not just saying that every woman or man is strong.
