Finally got the author set. It’s as heavy as the sweat it cost me the last 15 months. It’s worth the effort even if the feeling holding the book is strange like I couldn’t believe we’re done with writing it

@VaughnVernon Not really. I still receive notifications and your post resonated with me. I scrolled your timeline and noticed that all your posts Vaughn have a lot of useful information and quality. I share your concern and this makes me think I did well in stepping out.

@tjaskula I remember your decisions. I felt like I had to remain, but often felt like leaving. But now you're back?

Hey, I've tried to continue posting useful and helpful content here, although it's become apparent that engagement has fallen off by a huge margin. Personally, I am apolitical, and I'm not interested in participating in any sort of disputes and arguments. It would seem that's my free-speech right. Yet, perhaps my content has been marginalized due to not mixing it up on the prevailing side that this platform has come to promote (versus the obvious opposite side pre @X). If that's what the new owners want from the platform, it's their money and their business. It seems they owe me nothing even though I've paid for the service nearly since paying was a thing. That was to show my personal investment in my own content and brand since September 2009, not because I back some agenda. I'm certain, however, that the blue checkmark now says that I have chosen a side, which is exactly the opposite of the side that was previously favored with free blue checkmarks. I have not and do not. The other possibility is that nobody wants to engage in what used to be Tech-Twitter. That seems to have blown up even before COVID, and if not, shortly after the lockdown. As an experiment, I opened an account on Mastodon. Some seem to have a decent experience there. Personally I find it roughly as dead as a door nail. Sometime ago I opened a BlueSky account. That was also dead. I think since the US election results that's now seen as a haven for "the other side." I've been followed by more than 600 people in the past week. I think that's also an indictment against Mastodon, because it just mostly doesn't work. If not, it's at least an experiment to see whether "Tech-Twitter" lands there. I'm certain it's never returning to this platform because the vast majority of techs identify with the opposite of what's happening here. What I do find on BlueSky is that engagement for pure tech is way less than political bashing and personal hatred of others. Yes, it's the opposite echo chamber. I know this because most engagement from tech folks there is political and personal hatred of those here. I'm so sick of the whole thing. It's clearly a sign of the times that people aren't open to any agreement. So, what do I do? Should pack up and leave as have many, many others? Do I continue posting into the void for the sake of the few people who even follow their timeline? I'm not necessarily looking for your answer, and especially not if it's based on a political motivation. Sigh. <--- That's all I've got.

I really enjoyed this talk by @jdegoes on the journey of @EffectTS_. I appreciate his humility in admitting that Effect will have a greater impact than @zioscala even though ZIO introduced several breakthrough advancements in #FP. Now I have to learn. youtu.be/Ei6VTwhI8QQ

Moreover, focusing on different kinds of problems to solve than LOB applications and architectures is enjoyable and motivating. Sometimes there is no choice but to go back to powerful languages like C++ to build parts of modern products.

I have never thought that since I last coded in C++ (more than 20 years ago), I'll be back to it and use it for a few months now. I enjoy it a lot! The language improved, but the tooling, like #JetBrains #CLion, makes it enjoyable. It's an absolute pleasure!

Local optimization means a lack of communication, and in the DDD context, it means creating silos. Teams become experts in their context but may struggle to communicate effectively with others, leading to a disjointed overall system.

There was a lot of sound advice saying that we could address just one BC with the DDD model (core domain) and everything else could support it without requiring DDD modeling, but it was always in mind considering the whole business domain.

In software architecture, local optimization, like creating a DDD model for a single bounded context without considering the entire system, can lead to misalignment. It's like solving a puzzle without seeing the picture on the box. #SoftwareArchitecture #DomainDrivenDesign

There is a lot of sound advice on building server-side APIs, but there is little advice on building autonomous clients to be independent of the server changes. It generally requires a lot of work, for example, a client fully compatible HATEOAS for RESTful APIs

Trying out Twitter again after few months of being off. I can still see the endless content push when refreshing the timeline. Is there a way to just get content from people I follow or just limit this behavior?

@eulerfx I recall one FP disagreement WRT claims of mathematical proof of program correctness. My comments led to the FP guy admitting how impractical that is, and he apologized to the CC guy for his inflammatory statements. I discussed that topic with @tjaskula: adddot.io/podcast/s2e6/
