@Jeffrey04 Thanks for your help, and thanks for persevering in the face of wsl, vm, Windows store redirection and much else. I'm on the train home right now but hopefully we can look at what you've contributed over the next few days
it was great getting some help from Nicolas and @tjguk during the sprint this morning, note2self, wslg is still not ready for even lightweight GUI dev work, and setting up VM doesn't work in this case
And so it ends:

RIP Webfaction, and thanks for many years of helpful hosting
Congrats to @ClassicFM on reading my mind. Seconds ago, I was humming the lyric theme from "Crown Imperial" when, lo and behold!, up it pops on the radio!
@ntoll Lovely shot of you & Mary (as well as the picturesque hills). I was going to ask who carried the cello up all those hills -- but I think that answers that question ;)
Congratulations to the whole Tollervey family for their fundraising endurance feat. I've loved watching the Shropshire landscape and hearing the varied music :)
If you'd like to add to the money they're raising for @MfACharity please donate at the link in @ntoll tweet.
@ntoll Don't know if Penelope was switching from "pick" to "strum" in order to be heard, but if she was I'm totally in sympathy. I've done many minibus trips when I'm trying to pick out a delicate guitar line but switch to bashing it out because no-one can hear otherwise!
Looks like there's only £25 left to meet the target (although I'm sure they'd appreciate more).
Come on, people, step up and help get them to (or beyond) 100% to help musicians...
@leandropls@reuvenmlerner Alternate Data Stream. I'm struggling to find a useful reference on microsoft.com, but there's plenty about highlighting the dangers (injection of invisible data for malware purposes etc.)
Today, a #Python student's code didn't print:
x = 5
if x == 5:
print: ('yes!')
There was a typo, namely : after print. But: Huh?
Python sees this as a type annotation to print, but without assignment. So no output, no warning, much confusion!
A young coder friend of mine (Year 10) is looking for an online coding camp this Summer. Needn't be Python, but text- rather than block-based.
Anyone know of anything?
@tjguk@cgarside@Stemettes This is part of the Amazon Future Engineers programme, that we creaed for Amazon. It uses an online platform to give them access to Python sessions and problems (it's Skulpt based in the background), that are auto-marked.
@cgarside@Stemettes Thanks. I don't know, but I'll pass it on. I've just been recommeded the firetechcamp by @davidames but this seems to be something slightly different. (And free...)
