Instead of this constant race to the bottom for entertainment from teenagers, I will be introducing legislation that will offer no income tax for: 1. any public school teacher 2. any clergy 3. any farmers 4. any veteran 5. any first responder 6. any frontline healthcare worker 7. any daycare employees 8. any linemen 9. any plumber 10. any social workers 11. any truck drivers 12. any roofers 13. basically anyone working for the common good or any hardworking person providing for his/her family I love sports. But, what are we doing? A hardworking person providing for his/her family is going to be taxed but not a teenager signing a deal to play a sport for one year because they’re too important? C’mon. Let’s put the pedestal where it belongs. Teenagers are athletic, they’re fun to mindlessly watch to recuperate from a long work week. I pay all the subscriptions so I can watch them play. I’m fine with teenagers receiving anything someone is willing to pay them. But it crosses the line, at least for me, when they are treated above the common good - that they shouldn’t contribute to the very society that allowed them to do what they do. US Congress - it is past time to set nationwide guardrails. Otherwise, we’re going to have states offer lifetime pensions & a puppy a day before we hit the bottom. (No state better steal my puppy a day bill.)
