• Amid the well-documented tension between Kuminga and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, Saleh emerged as a consistently positive influence in Kuminga’s life during their initial time working together.
• Kuminga had also grown increasingly open to a change of scenery. He felt a surge of excitement when Saleh told him shortly after the trade agreement that Atlanta was focused on winning immediately and eager to bring him in to unlock his natural game.
• There is mutual interest between Kuminga and the Hawks in potentially declining his $24.3 million team option for the 2026–27 season, allowing both sides to explore a longer-term contract.
