@DanielJPhelan_ @YaleBooks @HistArchChester @LeverhulmeTrust @CWGC Thanks for sharing. Nuneaton is a really nice example of how the enemy dead were scattered around the country. Much more of this in the book!

@tlgrady68 @YaleBooks @HistArchChester @LeverhulmeTrust Wow, this book looks really interesting! In my local cemetery, where I volunteer for the @CWGC, there are seventeen German burials from #WW2. I found an article stating that in 1940 the council put land aside for up to sixty enemy burials.

A mere 6 months/ish until my new book ‘Burying the Enemy’ comes out with @yalebooks: tinyurl.com/2r5xdyjs It’s about death in the world wars, but with a difference. It essentially asks: how do you bury the enemy? I’ll post more nearer the time @HistArchChester @LeverhulmeTrust

English

@sommecourt @YaleBooks @HistArchChester @LeverhulmeTrust @OldFrontLinePod I’d like that. Thanks for the invitation Paul.
English

@tlgrady68 @YaleBooks @HistArchChester @LeverhulmeTrust Looks very interesting, Tim. Perhaps you’d like to come on @OldFrontLinePod and talk about it nearer the time?

@CathAMClarke Brilliant- good news on the exam. The German connection has drawn me to Fordington a couple of times…
English

@tlgrady68 Yes! And a memorial to the first soldier evacuated to the hospital in the Charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava... I didn't think anyone on here would know it - but of course I can see why you do! The exam seeemd to go well, thank you.

@carol1ne_louise That’s amazing Caroline. Congratulations! Your dead Nazi project is fantastic - looking forward to reading more and more on this.

Impressive first @uochester Festival of Ideas programme. With perfect timing, Roland Clark and I are discussing interwar fascism this Thursday. Join us in Chester town hall at midday for exhibition and chat: tinyurl.com/p5z9fdzj

On the slow train to @uochester from Amiens, but finally back after marvellous conference on WWI and political legacies. Thanks to @cr_historial for such generous hospitality

@johnpaul_newman I seem to have been erased from history! Great panel though

HEADLINERS ! Me and Jay Winter about to drop the deep academic cuts 😎😎

A really fantastic scheme! It was such a luxury to have a full day in London discussing draft chapters with generous colleagues. Really helped to shape my forthcoming book on the enemy war dead with @YaleBooks

One of the more interesting walks to think about German-Jewish history. But well worth it for the view and for the amazing @CatalystSDC archive.

English

@tlgrady68 It's the scorched earth approach. They have resigned themselves to a devasting defeat at the next General Elections and want to leave as many catastrophic problems for Labour as possible. This is reckless, selfish, and ultimately against the country's interests.
English

Remarkable to think there’s anything left in this country for this government to destroy, but there you go: Rishi Sunak faces cabinet backlash over plans to curb foreign student visas | Immigration and asylum | The Guardian theguardian.com/uk-news/articl…

@CathAMClarke @uochester Thanks so much Catherine. It was a brilliant panel with such great discussion. Glad you made the train ok. Hope journey south goes smoothly.

On my way home from speaking at an excellent event on 'Getting Funded' at @uochester, organised by the brilliant @tlgrady68. Touched by these lovely gifts - I sense there's an obvious conclusion to this... 😄🍷
