@tlgrady68 @YaleBooks @HistArchChester @LeverhulmeTrust Wow, this book looks really interesting! In my local cemetery, where I volunteer for the @CWGC, there are seventeen German burials from #WW2. I found an article stating that in 1940 the council put land aside for up to sixty enemy burials.

Amazing display case in Amiens Hotel de Ville containing gifts exchanged from town twinning events and other moments of international diplomacy. Great to see all this doesn’t just disappear into a cupboard or worse!

One of the joys of this French WWI conference is not only the discussions against the backdrop of Amiens but crucially a very long lunch with wine too. Most relaxed.

@tlgrady68 It's the scorched earth approach. They have resigned themselves to a devasting defeat at the next General Elections and want to leave as many catastrophic problems for Labour as possible. This is reckless, selfish, and ultimately against the country's interests.
