Quite a bomb the CHSAA may drop on Stepinac basketball. Rumored for weeks. But for playing in Chipotle Nationals, Stepinac could face: - Massaroni suspended for 8 league games - BAN on all basketball teams in the 2027 playoffs - NO out of state games - 2 years probation Wow
🚨 MAJOR NEWS IN SECTION 1 🚨 A proposed Amendment to the Section One Constitution will "make non-public schools ineligible for postseason play." Those schools - Albertus Magnus, Ursuline, Keio and Leffell - can compete in a non-public sectional playoff. But no opportunity for @NYSPHSAA playoffs. The Athletic Council will vote next week and needs two-thirds majority to be passed. NYSPHSAA won't move to make this seismic change - so @SecOneAthletics is attempting to take matters into its own hands.
Have to shout out these two. Opposing team captains of @BOBShowcase716, a showcase setting. Seniors. Both have capped illustrious HS chapters, college plans all set. D1 🏀 for one, D2 hoop + XC the other. They could’ve sat back & chilled through this & no one would’ve batted an eye - they’ve proven their points in WNY. But nope. They competed! Led. Really got after it. Made plays when their teams needed at both ends. Treated it with value, because that’s what competitors do. Fun to watch that. Habits that’ll serve @AnnabelleDay_3 well at @UBwomenshoops & @juliecruz222 well at @DaemenWBB 🤝
