TMNF Objectives: Instrument Donation A big part of our job has been to rehome lots of pre-loved instruments. Some were destined to be intermediate instruments for a talented child embarking on lessons, whilst others will be shared, serving clubs and classrooms for years to come.

One particular case study involves 3 talented siblings from Manchester, for whom we were able to cover the cost of one-to-one music lessons over a 2 year period and facilitate their attendance at ensemble groups at the Manchester Music Centres. 🧵(3/3)

EMILY’S STORY After the difficult job of assessing many applications for our 2021 HE and FE support grants, we found Emily Rooke, talented Soprano Singer and Opera Specialist, who was seeking support to attend the Royal College Of Music. 🧵(1/2)

Leeds Conservatoire’s Story Through partnership with the team at @LeedsMusicDrama , TMNF funds supported at least 8 full fee bursaries and a number of smaller bursaries towards expenses, allowing for talent in difficult circumstances to reach the same potential as their peers.

TMNF funds covered the provision of staffing and necessary resources to provide an invigorating and inspirational experience, in which participants were encouraged to make music using the world around them, creating inventive pieces out of household objects. #musiccharity

THE FOUND SOUND STORY Lockdown 2020 brought about the cancellation of many of our plans, but along came the Found Sound Project! From the folk behind @DeliaDDay, it was an only composition project designed to enrich the musical development of young musicians during the pandemic.

All over the country, plenty of awareness was raised for our cause, with each post directing members of the public towards information about the talented young people we had helped during our first year of operation. Thanks again to all who took part!

NATIONAL DAY OF GIVING We were overwhelmed by the response to our #friendsoftmnf campaign for National Day Of Giving 2018. Bands, Choirs and Soloists alike united to submit their own performances of The Beatles’ “With A Little Help From My Friends.”

KWASI’S STORY Kwasi is an exceptional Bassoon player who, at the time of meeting, was outgrowing a second-hand beginner instrument. Funds from TMNF were able to provide Kwasi with a brand new Bassoon that could springboard him to new musical heights. 🧵(1/2)
