#HCPSRead A5: Continuing on with elearning I really would like to step out there and use the reflection questions to uncover where to start with Ss, so they are adding more to their reading life.

#HCPSRead A4: The table charts on pg 197-198 provides reflective conversation points and verbiage to practice and develop with anyone in your reading journey.

#HCPSRead A3: A3: Each Role needs to make sense as Ts navigate using them w/ Ss. I need to know students and where they are at in their reading process. There is no right or wrong script but, different pathways of “Tool” (choices).

#HCPSRead Elearning was a true example of being vulnerable: Learning how to navigate technology, trusting students as they own their learning, using ideas in this resources to communicate with students so they can improve and set goals.

#HCPSRead A2: Vulnerability gives us the opportunity to trust, connect and share new understandings. It provides power with knowledge! Teaching Ss to become vulnerable helps them own their purpose and idea as they learn within themselves and w/ others.

#HCPSRead A1: Admire Student Shift- provides feedback to teachers on how the classroom is working 😍and gives a balance of ownership to young readers. This helps students TAKE CHARGE of their own Reading lives.🤓

#HCPSRead Follow up: I worked on setting up a purpose that was clear and explicit. I worked on being a minor in small group lessons by asking process-oriented questions while listening to what Ss were able to do!

#HCPSRead A5: There are many ways to apply chapter eight in e-learning. One to one or group conferences with students, focusing on what students can do, being on the sideline to view the ownership Ss take as they learn and grow as readers.

@sparka_julie It is an honor to mentor a thinker and what is so rewarding is seeing a Ss find their reading path with the bag of strategy tricks in hand. 🥰

#HCPSRead if we stay stuck with the "unwilling and unable" we loose track of what Ss CAN do. I want to focus on more steps of the specific strategy so Ss can fly and own their reading lives! ❤️

#HCPSRead A4-Framing the positive brings positive reactions. P.159 “…our brains actually does not remember the ‘not’” Naming what “not to do” gets in our heads and messes up our thinking.

#HCPSRead A3- We can not always be right there guiding our students learning. Model and guide students to try new strategies to navigate their readering process when needed. Goal: We want students to choose strategies and offer less support.

#HCPSRead Q2: Mentoring- you must take the time to guide students through steps of a strategy so our Ss are able to work through mindsets. Miner, Mirror, and Model are toolkits to become a strong mentor!

@vickery_hcps Definitely small steps in prompting students has gain better results with my own students. Also reminding them of what they have learned already. Building confident readers!!!

#HCPSRead A1- Small steps, bring big success-in eLearning without the face to face interaction Ss must move methodically, maybe more slowly through the process connecting the dots along the way. Same for teachers in this new world of teaching-baby steps!

#HCPSRead A1: Taking the role of a mentor is to- guide and coach readers to try new strategies and become confident readers. Learning to be on the sideline coaching is the KEY!
