2, Bottom line: you’re paying players, managing a budget, and running a business. Accountability comes with the job. Too many coaches don’t want it. Even the old heads look worn down and tired.

I watched a few coaches’ press conferences yesterday. I don’t know if there’s a more cynical group out there—thin-skinned, sarcastic, allergic to questions, and suddenly acting like half-baked philosophers.

Who’s going to be the first college baseball team to have a former minor leaguer who signed straight out of high school? You know it’s coming. My guess is Texas or Florida.
