@jramz4440 @WCPO Southwest’s policy is that you have to be able to put both arm rests down without spilling onto the neighboring seat. Otherwise, you’ll need to purchase another seat. Good question about if there’s not another seat available though. Not sure, will try to find out

@tnimms @WCPO Fair is fair. If tall people get charged extra for legroom so sound the obese. I’m curious how they decide who has to pay the extra. How will they define “plus sized” What if there isn’t an extra seat available? Will they compensate the neighboring passenger(s)?

Southwest Airlines will soon require plus-size travelers who take up space in the neighboring seat to purchase a second ticket. What are your thoughts on this policy? ✈️ @WCPO

Southwest has been praised in the past for being more accommodating to plus-size passengers, which is why this change is sparking some debate. Do you think airlines should be more flexible, or is this policy about fairness to all passengers?

Starting January 27, 2026, the second seat will no longer be automatically refunded. Refunds will only apply if: • The flight departs with at least one open seat • Both seats were purchased in the same fare class • A refund is requested within 90 days

What’s iconic ab Cincinnati? They’re kidding, right? We don’t need mink coats & cowboy hats, but this is an incredible, walkable, vibrant city w/ gorgeous architecture, delicious food, historic & accessible theaters. We are diverse. We are welcoming. We are a city, not just a location. The Queen City is iconic, whether Sundance sees it that way or not. I hope Cincy is chosen, but it won’t change my mind on how great this place is if they make the mistake and pick someplace else.
