sent a manuscript to an agent for the first time ever! it's 100 pages, which is short for a book but by far the longest thing i've ever written.

I'm on a self-help book kick these days and loving it. Any recommendations for self-help books that had a big impact on you?

For those of you breathlessly following along, my commencement speaker seems to have been the president of the World Bank at the time, so... no great loss there.

This was part of her commencement address at Bryn Mawr in 1986, which makes me wonder, who gave my commencement speech at Brandeis and were they brilliant? I definitely wasn't listening.
