Hi @Bitstamp, isn’t it time to cut your BTC withdrawal fee? 0.0005 BTC is now over €50 — roughly more than 10× what @bitfinex and @binance charge. In early 2023 that fee was fair. With today’s BTC price, it’s excessive. Or do you prefer your customers’ funds stay trapped on your platform? Looks like it is time to leave @Bitstamp: Not your keys, not your Bitcoin!

Interesting thread, although it has some miss assumptions. Regulators will force stablecoin issuers to back their stablecoins 1:1 with government bonds. Tether can only invest its profit in BTC and even there they are nowadays diversifying their investments (e.g. AI, neurotics etc). So inflow in BTC will be lower than assumed by the author.

@EliBenSasson This sounds like a good compromise, keeping Bitcoin L1 free of anything that could jeopardize its reputation, but enabling stablecoins on L2 chains with the security inherited by Bitcoin. Mass adoption of stablecoins is already underway, it would be great if Bitcoin could join in

Bitcoin soft fork that no one should object to: 1. Allows efficient post-quantum zkSTARK verification 2. Allows L2s to exist 3. Bans anything but the zkSTARK proof No "Mevil", no jpegs, no "spam" on L1. You get scale, privacy, some pq-security. Thoughts?
