@WC_2014 Don’t know what happens with UCL. If you’re the best team in a domestic league that isn’t megabucks, how do you not get humiliated? Scotland, Austria, Belgium, Serbia, Switzerland, all adrift. Does the money make it worth it?

@MichaelRosenYes BBC Alba covers the Scottish Traditional Music Awards, Na Trads, as a live programme. And there are occasional trad/folk music performance programmes. The BBC Scotland Hogmanay show always features trad music.

@MichaelRosenYes I know more about the TV than the piping. I was the BBC Exec back when the coverage started in the noughties, despite being English and knowing little about it.

Do they ever show on TV the virtuoso folk instrument competitions - Irish music: flute, pipes, whistle, melodeon, mandolin etc? Or Northumbrian and Scots pipes? Or any of the many instruments of migrant communities: eg Turkish, Greek, Bangladeshi, India, African countries etc etc
