Daniel Penny snuck up behind an innocent Black man who never touched anyone, and choked him to death while claiming self defense. This happened in New York that has some of the strictest self-defense laws and a duty to retreat. Penny was still acquitted & paraded around like a hero. Karmelo defended himself from a physical assault in Texas-a state with the most expansive Stand Your Ground laws, with NO duty to retreat. And he gets a murder conviction. The only difference in these cases is the enforcement is governed by systemic white supremacy

@ModestyQueen19 What the fuck do we consider self defense, self defense has to be proportional. You can’t stab someone who pushed you because a physical shove is not proportional to a stabbing. Therefore it wasn’t self defense but murder, which is what he got charged with.
