Imagine a pro sports head coach after a loss saying, “Look, I’m not the only coach around here, it’s not my fault.” The media would roast him and fans would call for him to be fired. Canadians are more demanding of their NHL head coaches and GMs than the guy who is running the country.

@FrankCaputoKTN The Parole Board needs to answer for this. Who made this decision at the parole board, and more importantly, are they accountable if it goes wrong? We are not collateral damage for bureaucratic judgment calls. The justice system exists to protect the public, not gamble with it.

Let me get this straight. This is a DISCRETIONARY release by the Parole aboard. So they say 👍. But the police put out a safety bulletin due to the offender being such a high risk? These things do not jive. I will be requesting the parole decision.

A convicted first-degree murderer is on an UNESCORTED 72-hour release in Oshawa, and police are telling residents to "stay vigilant." Let that sink in. My neighbours in Oshawa shouldn't have to be told to look over their shoulders while a convicted killer gets a weekend pass. Public safety must come first. Always.

Rising above politics I am not one to express my political views through social media, however, my recent post about the United States Marine Corps has sparked considerable attention, both positive and negative from my Canadian friends. 🧵

Ultimately, it's about my values and the respect that I hold dear. I refuse to let political rhetoric divide me from my commitment for those who need it most, regardless of their nationality.

This attention has prompted me to share my thoughts, as they touch on values and relationships that are deeply important to me.

Helping both Canadian and American military personnel recover and heal from the physical and psychological wounds of war is a cause that should never be tainted by political differences.

Whether or not one agrees with the political climate, the well-being of our veterans and active service members is something that transcends borders. Our shared humanitarian values should guide our actions as we continue to support those who have served.

Having had the privilege of working closely with American citizens and military personnel, many of whom I consider family, I have come to understand that the bond between our two countries is far more nuanced than any political rhetoric or posturing might suggest.
