No volatility now as #ES_F is exhausted and very poor quality trading until we get some. 6466-70 is a magnet today. Reclaims see 6492 as posted and we just popped to 6490 and rejected. Bears remain in full control below 6575 and 6492 recover to start a rally today to 6524+

@michaellistman Is the 10 trading session period a rolling window or analyzed sequentially?

The contention that "VIX is riskier to short near the lows" has always bothered me as being inaccurate from a quantitative perspective so here's what I did today (and the results confirmed my view) The parameters of this study are as follows: >Analyze $VIX in 5 point ranges >10+ point gain = adverse risk event >Looked at 10 trading sessions following EOD print (feel free to suggest alternative parameters if you think they'd be more representative of actual risk of loss) These results clearly show that your actual RISK of loss decreases with lower index levels. The 4.3% result for the 30-35 range might throw some off so I'll add some color to this: VIX above 30 is a very rare condition, venturing above only around 4x per year, so once that level is reached, getting to 40 is much more difficult. VIX values of 35+ are very very rare (as noted by their occurrence %) and their 10 point moves are less of a stretch than from a sub-15 starting point. So the next time someone tells you that you should never short $UVXY or $UVIX at the low end of a VIX range, send them this 😺

@AdamMancini4 @shadylady0806 Mine comes to a Gmail address and there are days (with a longer email) that I have to click on the ‘View Entire Message’ at the bottom of the email in order to see everything. Happens in the Gmail app and also in a browser.

@theblackbox2025 When I went to enter it was around 0.72. I waited and got filled at 0.60. Sometimes being patient allows a better fill and other times it moves away and you just have to wait for the next setup.

I will say that I was lamenting the loss of beta slippage with the day's recovery from the red open, but our President saved it and moved most of my shorts back to 5%+ moves at the close.😺

@AdamMancini4 @IsshoKnows Any resources you would recommend for learning to chart better? I find myself drawing lines and connecting points that seem obvious like horizontals but when it goes off that I find myself quickly getting into territory that I know I’m not really prepared to handle.

@IsshoKnows Yes - I find them extremely imprecise though. Still do it the old fashioned way!

@OnTheHooch Friday's strength isn't surprising given the sell Thursday - squeeze strength is always at minimal proportional to sell strength in ES and we havn't even fully retraced Thursday's sell, wouldn't be surprised at all to see a few hundred points more on that squeeze.

Big Picture View: Since July 1st, #ES_F has built a massive range. Its two bull flags: 1) 6230 to 6333. This broke out Monday 2) Another bull flag formed since July 22nd with 6415 resistance. Closed here Friday Plan Next Week: 6452 1st up, final reaction there, then 6487, 6520. Bear case: 6333 must fail to start sell to 6230 again.
