@stevemagness As an adult, I never liked having a coach. I thought they pushed too hard, and I knew my body better than they did.

The more experienced the runner, the more the coach exists to prevent the runner from doing dumb things, from getting in their own way. It’s holding back not pushing forward. Training isn’t rocket science. Most of us could write a program that gets us 95% of the way there.
