Miller would cost at least Warren Jasson and Lagrange
IDK if Cash goes there
Jeffers....Maybe Hess and a lower level prospect

@JMAC_Baseball De Vries is going to hurt. Really really bad. Like, as much as squandering Wood away hurts.
English

Meanwhile we have an elite closer who NEVER gets to pitch due to his team being as bad as any in the majors. More AJ masterclass. 🤣

Leo De Vries unloads on his 11th homer of the year for the Double-A @RockHounds 🔥 MLB’s No. 2 prospect (@Athletics) has 9 hits in his past 6 games -- 4 for extra bases:

@DevineGospel You are more optimistic than me. Those Machado and Bogaerts contacts are going to be crippling. If they are this bad now, can you imagine how bad they are likely to be in 2 years? Probably unplayable.
English

Couldn’t agree more
This ain’t the year but that doesn’t mean the whole franchise is cooked
Smart moves can put us in a great spot

@DevineGospel Buying and selling just as important…looking forward to see how AJ does in the selling process of dealing. Padres have great opportunity to get this turned around quickly if done right for 2027 (if baseball) and beyond.
English

@mark_a_bartlett The reality is that the Padres are going to be bad for a long time, especially having to pay a declining Bogaerts and declining Machado nearly $65 million per year starting next season for their age 34 to 40 seasons.
English

AJ Preller failed to address the starting pitching staff and that falls on him. We’ve got multiple $20 M+ arms on the IL with no clear timeline and the rotation hasn’t been properly reinforced. Instead we keep relying on injury prone past their prime pitchers and hoping it somehow works out in San Diego while key guys sit on the IL collecting paychecks.
This new ownership group also needs to invest in starting pitching. I do believe AJ was limited before they arrived which led to a lot of bargain bin moves for the rotation.
And we need updates soon on Musgrove and Pivetta because they’re desperately needed. There’s no postseason baseball without them
English

@JMAC_Baseball Good thing they gave up De Vries for Miller. And Wood and Abrams for Soto. And signed Bogaerts and Machado to monster contracts!
English

@realbrentreed It would be malpractice for Preller NOT to explore trades for Miller this Summer.
English

@realbrentreed Trading for Miller was short-sighted in the Padres had (and have) a near-elite bullpen without him. It’s like the kid holding an icecream cone and wanting to trade his rare $10 bill for another ice cream cone that he doesn’t need.
English

@RickBartchak 9 days rest is too much. He should have pitched last night.
English

@dgasper24 Part of this is on the manager/pitching coach. I understand that Sunday was a rain out, but not sure the logic of not pitching him last night. Not surprised that he isn’t sharp after 9 days rest.
English

@JMAC_Baseball The Machado and Xander contracts are going to be PAINFUL with a capital “P”!
English

Day 12 of asking the #MNtwins to call up Kaelen Culpepper until it happens.
English

@toddrob77 It's tough because he's been good for so many years, and you know the moment you drop him he gets hot and starts dropping tanks into the fountains.
English

Maybe it's time to cut Salvador Perez loose.
I have Cal Raleigh coming back in a matter of days.
#FantasyBaseball #MLB
English

@seattle_wayne That’s the risk I suppose but I’ll just say this. Last year early when Perez was struggling, his xSlug was like .530, so you knew better days were coming. This year, he’s sligging .332 with an xSlug of only .388, so a big improvement is less likely.
English

@CFahrenthold11 And last in runs scored in all of MLB. I mean, even the Royals and Red Sox, who are just above the Pass, have 14 and 13 more runs on the season, respectively. In a word: ouch!
English

Mets up 2-0 thanks to Tatis being useless.
And that’s game: #Padres offense is incapable of coming back from that.
English

@jb77neb @DontFireSpags Erceg has to be out as the closer. He just has to!
