Big difference for moving efficiency of industry forward. That's the difference in breeder focus with major lamb production countries.

He has a plan, utilizes the tools that are available to him to be profitable. Doesnt matter what breed u have. Use the tools provided by our industry partners to succeed.

@kinburnsheep @hawkhillfarm @AnnieOakley123 @theLincFarm @JimBenn71220505 We all know of people that have no direction/plan or goals of producing quality. We are fortunate to have one of best markets in the world for lamb. For this reason it has slowed genetic progress, because it's easier not to.

That is the difference in a being a Breeder or just a multiplier of lambs which we have too many of in this great country.

@kinburnsheep @modernsheeper @DrewTyler_ @hawkhillfarm White suffolks have up to 5 different breeds in them. Apparently processors in AU finding too much variability in carcasses. Glorified crossbred is what Dorset guys say. Guess it happens in every country.

@DoubleLivestock I don't think our industry in CANADA should go down that road. We are developing a following for superior products of young fresh lamb. Producers want premium prices we have to continue to improve our product and become more efficient to compete.

I would like to hear Canadian producers’ and processors’ perspective on this. These countries supply almost 60% of lamb consumed in this country. Do we continue to operate under historical constraints and give or competitors an advantage? Or adapt/adopt?

@Uplandssarah My last group of IDF had 80% ewe lambs, Suffolks 75% Rams. Same management 6 different rams. Go figure?

First 6 days of Lambing has started off with 88% rams. But like howwwww?

@222Bcf @kinburnsheep @DrewTyler_ @OntarioSheep @OntarioBeef So, the reason they brought black East Friesians into Mexico because the white ones were getting skin cancer, in Australia the Dorsets were having some issues because of the of their pink skin. No issues with sheep with black tips. Just stop cause it's clear you have no idea.

@toddsheepco @kinburnsheep @DrewTyler_ @OntarioSheep @OntarioBeef If you’ve ever put a sheep out into the sunshine you’d know that the darker skinned ones are more susceptible to sun burn, skin cracking and fly strike. Try raising sheep that meet the real life requirements
